Developer: thnkdev Introduction 2. Launch MacRemover in the dock or Launchpad, select QuickRes 4.2.1 appearing on the interface, and click Run Analysis button to proceed. Coming across RehabMans post in the awesome forum about how to actually write a config file to tell macOS what resolutions you wanna have - which includes converting stuff from integer to hex and then combine stuff and convert it to Base64 to finally write a XML file - I thought: “Isn’t there any easy and free way to do this?”. QuickRes used to have the resolution I wanted, but now I can't see it? About section

No doubt that uninstalling programs in Mac system has been much simpler than in Windows system. But it still may seem a little tedious and time-consuming for those OS X beginners to manually remove QuickRes 4.2.1 and totally clean out all its remnants. Why not try an easier and faster way to thoroughly remove it? So coming from Windows and just recently switched to mac I thought: “I will just have to scale the fonts a little like I do on Windows with 150% or so….”. After some intense clicking around in the monitor settings and some googling the sad reality caught up with me. There is no such thing to easily achieve HiDPI resolutions on an external Monitor. QuickRes is a great tool to have around if you want to be able to switch your Mac’s resolution with minimal effort: you can manually select the resolution of your choice, or you can make use of the predefined profiles. In addition, QuickRes comes with built in hotkeys that make the entire process even faster. Pre-built favorites allows you to incrementally enlarge or reduce the desktop size. QuickRes is available in two flavors. The paid version is available for a 9to5Mac-exclusive price of $.99 (regularly $1.99) through this discount link. The free version, which supports fewer resolutions and does not include a quick HiDPI toggle for non-Retina, is available on the Mac App Store. Photo Credit: Intel, 64-bit processor by NMac Ked
